صوم رمضان
Fasting Ramadan
Fasting is abstaining from eating, drinking and sexual intercourse from dawn to sunset with the intention of fasting.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Hijri months, and fasting the month of Ramadan is the fourth of the five pillars of Islam, without which a Muslim's Islam is not realized, and therefore fasting the month of Ramadan is obligatory for every Muslim man and woman as long as they meet the conditions for fasting.
Patience is like the head from the body, and patience is like the head from the body. God has imposed fasting on this nation for a month a year to fear God, avoid what God forbids, get used to patience, restrain the soul, and compete in generosity, generosity, cooperation, sympathy, and compassion: “O you who believe, it is written upon you to fast as it was written upon those before you, so that you may fear the cow / 183
The month of Ramadan is a great month in which God revealed the Qur'an, in which good deeds, charity and worship are multiplied, and in which there is the Night of Destiny, which is better than a thousand months, in which the gates of heaven are opened and the gates of hell are closed. And the demons are restrained.
When was the Ramadan fast imposed?
Ramadan fasting was imposed in Sha'ban in the second year of the Hijrah, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) fasted a total of nine Ramadan fasts from the time it was imposed until his death (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
The Rewards of Fasting
Fasting, whether obligatory or voluntary, has great rewards
Fasting is one of the best deeds in the sight of Allah Almighty, as fasting is one of the best deeds, as Abu Umama al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, command me something that will benefit me,’” he said: “You must fast, for there is nothing like it.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Fasting is a safeguard against worldly lusts and a fortress from the Fire.”
- Fasting is a penance for sins
- Fasting also intercedes for the Muslim on the Day of Judgment
- Fasting purifies and purifies the heart and helps it to be patient.
The virtues of fasting prayer
Prayer during fasting is one of the best acts of worship that a fasting person can perform, so the prayer of the fasting person at iftar is one of the best times to pray, especially in the blessed month of Ramadan, and from Abdullah ibn Amr ibn Al-As (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: “A fasting person has an answered prayer when he breaks his fast.”
The supplication at Iftar is a Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace: “O Allah, for you I fasted and for your sustenance I broke my fast, thirst is gone, veins are wet, and the reward is fixed, if Allah wills.”
The prayers mentioned in the Holy Qur'an are also among the best prayers that a fasting person can pray during the obligatory fast
Allah has made it obligatory for every sane adult Muslim, male and female, to fast the month of Ramadan, as He said: The month of Ramadan, in which the Qur'an was revealed as a guide for the people and a sign of guidance and understanding, so whoever among you witnesses the month, let him fast it, and whoever is sick or on a journey, let him fast for another number of days, Allah wants you to be easy and does not want you to be difficult, and to complete the number, and to praise Allah for what He has guided you, and let you be thankful, Al-Baqara/185
The reward for fasting is great in the sight of Allah, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: All the deeds of the son of Adam are doubled, the good deed is ten times ten, up to seven hundred times, except for fasting, for it is mine and I reward it, he leaves his appetite and food for my sake Narrated by Muslim, Fasting.
We
are now in a great and blessed month, namely the month of Ramadan,
the month of fasting, prayer and recitation of the Qur'an, the month
of liberation and forgiveness, the month of charity and charity, a
month in which the gates of paradise are opened, in which good deeds
are multiplied, in which stumbling blocks are removed, a month in
which prayers are answered, degrees are raised, and bad deeds are
forgiven, a month in which Allah bestows upon His servants all kinds
of honors and bestows gifts upon them, a month in which Allah made
fasting one of the pillars of Islam, so He ordered people to fast it
and told him that whoever fasts it with faith and reckoning, Allah
will forgive him his past sins. Whoever fasts it in faith and
calculation, Allah will forgive him his past sins, and whoever
resurrects it in faith and calculation, Allah will forgive him his
past sins. It is a month in which there is a night that is better
than a thousand months, and whoever is deprived of its goodness is
deprived, so welcome it with joy, happiness, and a sincere
determination to fast and perform it, and to race in it to good deeds
and take the initiative to repent sincerely from all sins and bad
deeds and to advise each other and cooperate in righteousness and
piety, to enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil and to call for
all good things so that you win the honor and the great reward.
Fasting has many benefits and great rulings, including purifying
the soul and purifying it from bad morals such as wickedness, greed,
and stinginess, and accustoming it to decent morals such as patience,
kindness, generosity, and striving for what pleases Allah and brings
it closer to Him.
Fasting has many benefits and great wisdom,
including cleansing the soul and purifying it from bad morals such as
wickedness, greed, and stinginess, and accustoming it to decent
morals such as patience, kindness, generosity, and striving for what
pleases Allah and brings it closer to Him.
Among the benefits of
fasting is that it introduces the slave to himself, his need,
weakness and poverty to his Lord, and reminds him of the great
blessings of Allah on him, and also reminds him of the need of his
poor brethren, thus requiring him to remember to thank Allah, to use
his blessings for his obedience, and to console and give charity to
his poor brethren.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not prescribe a specific number of rak'ahs for people in the night prayers, but rather he allowed them to pray eleven rak'ahs, or thirteen rak'ahs, or twenty-three rak'ahs, or more or less, and there is nothing wrong with that.
However, the best is what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did and practiced on most nights, which is eleven rak'ahs with tranquility in standing, sitting, bowing, prostrating, reciting the recitation, and not rushing, because the spirit of prayer is to approach it with the heart and reverence, and to perform it as Allah has prescribed with sincerity, honesty, desire, awe, and presence of heart. As the Almighty said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “The believers who are in their prayers have succeeded.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “I have made my eyes' contentment in prayer: The Prophet(peace be upon him)said: “I make my eyes rest in prayer.”[3]He said to the one who abused his prayer: If you rise to prayer, perform ablution, then receive the Qiblah, then recite what is easy for you from the Qur'an, then kneel until you are comfortable kneeling, then rise until you are comfortable standing, then prostrate until you are comfortable prostrating, then rise until you are comfortable sitting, then prostrate until you are comfortable prostrating, then do so in your entire prayer [Bukhari 6252, Muslim 912].
Why is fasting obligatory?
Fasting is one of the great acts of worship that benefits the Muslim in this world and the next, fasting is a discipline for the soul and helps it to be patient and leave the prohibitions and appetites, and the obligatory fasting is a great act that helps the Muslim to feel the need of the needy
Many people pray in Ramadan prayers that they do not know how to pray, nor do they feel at ease in them, but rather click them, and this is not permissible, but rather it is a denial with which the prayer is not valid, so the answer is to beware of this, and in the hadith from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he said: “The worst of people is the one who steals his prayer.” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, how does he steal his prayer?” He said: “He does not complete its bowing or prostrations [reported by Ahmad 11549, Al-Hakim 835].
Muslims should take advantage of this great month and glorify it with all kinds of worship and offerings, as it is a great month that Allah has made a field of worship in which they race to Him in obedience and compete in all kinds of good deeds, and to increase prayers, charity, reading the Holy Qur'an, and charity to the poor, poor and orphans, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to answer.
