I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of God
Belief in the prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him) is a pillar without which Islam is not valid, and this is an undeniable and necessarily known fact of the religion of Islam, and the pronouncement of the two shahadahs: The pronouncement of the two shahadahs: that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, with a firm belief in their requirements, is what enters a person into the name of Islam, as Allah says: {Individuals who believe in Allah and His messenger}(Al-Nur:62).
Every Muslim, and indeed every human being - until Allah inherits the earth and those on it - must believe and testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and that he is the last and best of the prophets and messengers, and that it is obligatory to believe and believe in him, to love and revere him, to follow his example and follow him, to obey him in what he commands, to avoid what he forbids and forbids, and that those who obey him enter Paradise and those who disobey him enter Hell, and that Allah Almighty is not to be worshiped except by his guidance and law - may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him.
One of the meanings of “I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of God” is “I testify that Muhammad is the messenger of God”: That is, I acknowledge and testify with my tongue and firmly believe from the bottom of my heart that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), sent by Allah Almighty to all people, as a herald and a warning, and that he is the Seal of the Prophets, and that there is no Prophet after him, Allah Almighty said: {Say, O people, I am the Messenger of Allah to all of you} (Al-A'raf: 158), and the Almighty said: “O Prophet, We have sent you as a witness, a herald and a warning * and a caller to Allah with His permission and an enlightening lamp” (Al-Ahzab: 45-46), and the Almighty said: “Muhammad was not the father of one of your men, but the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets” (Al-Ahzab: 40).
One of the meanings of “I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah” is that he is to be obeyed and followed, and that his words, commands and prohibitions are honored, so that no one's words, no matter who he is, are put before him, because he is a messenger reporting from Allah, and that he is the best of creation, prophets and messengers. Ibn Taymiyyah said: “Believing in the Messenger is believing in him, obeying him, and following his law.” Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen said: “The meaning of 'testimony that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah': Acknowledging with the tongue and firmly believing in the heart that Muhammad bin Abdullah al-Hashemi al-Qurashi is God's servant and messenger, sent to all creation: Jinn and mankind.” Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab said in his book “The Three Fundamentals”: “The meaning of the testimony that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah: To obey him in what he has commanded, to believe him in what he has told, to avoid what he has forbidden and forbidden, and to worship Allah only by what He has prescribed.”
